Ik ben vermist has no app in the App Store or on Google Play, and it doesn’t need one: you can add the site to your phone’s home screen in a few taps. It then opens like an app, without an address bar, and on an iPhone this is also how you get push notifications. Free, with no account and nothing to download.

Questions about the app
Is the app free?
Yes. Adding Ik ben vermist to your phone is free, just like reporting, searching and neighbourhood alerts. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription.
Why isn’t Ik ben vermist in the App Store or on Google Play?
Building and maintaining a separate app costs a lot of money, and we would rather spend that on reuniting pets with their owners. A web app works on every phone, gets every improvement straight away and needs no download or updates.
How do I get push notifications?
Turn on a neighbourhood alert and choose "push notifications in this browser". On an iPhone or iPad this only works when you open Ik ben vermist from your home screen (iOS 16.4 or later). On Android and on your computer it also works in the browser.
What about my privacy?
You don’t need an account and the app doesn’t ask for access to your contacts or location. We use the same cookie settings as on the website: statistics only if you consented to them. For push notifications we only store your browser’s push address and the municipality, radius and species you choose, with no name or email address.
How do I remove the app?
Like any app: press and hold the icon and choose remove. Your reports stay online; you manage them via My reports on the website.
Got the icon? Turn on a neighbourhood alert straight away
Choose your municipality and a radius, and get a nudge as soon as an animal goes missing or is found near you.
