What can we learn from this?
Search straight away and close by. A frightened animal often hides just a few metres from home. The first hours are the most important.
Take extra care in summer. Don't leave windows on the tilt, tell a sitter where your pet likes to hide and make sure it has a collar with a phone number.
A microchip only works with correct details. Almost all animals are microchipped, but an old phone number in DogID or CatID keeps a found animal from getting home.
