What Ik ben vermist does for you
A missing or found animal is a question every front desk gets. This is how you refer residents correctly in one go.
-
Live screen for the waiting room or reception
Missing and found animals from the area appear one by one on a TV or tablet, with a large QR code to the listing. One link, nothing to install, no cookies.
Set up the screen -
Poster with QR code per municipality
An A4 poster for the front desk or notice board, with a QR code to the current listings in each municipality of your zone. Print it or save it as a PDF.
Make a poster -
A permanent page per municipality
Every municipality has its own page with the missing and found animals nearby, local figures and the vets and shelters in the area. If your zone links to it, we are happy to mention that.
View the municipality pages -
A found animal at the front desk
Someone brings in a found animal? Use the chip number to check whether it has been reported missing. Finders can also list the animal themselves for free, with a photo and where it was found.
Look up a chip number -
For services that collect animals from the road
Does your service or the municipality collect a deceased animal? Pass on the chip number discreetly. If the animal was listed, we inform the owner personally. Nothing is made public.
Pass on the chip number -
Link, text and widget for the zone website
A ready-made text for the FAQ on your website, the link to the municipality page and a widget with the latest listings.
Choose the material -
Figures every quarter
Every quarter the barometer shows the missing and found animals per province. You will find the current numbers per municipality with the material below.
View the barometer -
Temporary shelter
A finder does not know where to take the animal? The shelter list shows the shelters, boarding kennels and vets per municipality, with phone number and distance.
View the shelter list -
In four languages
Dutch, French, English and German: residents who speak another language find their way too. You create the screen and the poster in the language you choose.
-
An API for your own system

Frequently asked questions
Is Ik ben vermist a police service?
No. Ik ben vermist is an independent, free platform by Huskii, a web agency from Diepenbeek. It does not replace any procedure of the zone or the municipality: it helps residents and neighbours find an animal sooner.
Does it cost the zone anything?
No. The screen, the posters, the widget and the texts are free, for the zone and for residents.
What about residents’ privacy?
No address is ever made public, contact goes through a secure form and photos are stored without EXIF data.
Our zone covers several municipalities. How do we handle that?
Create a poster and a link for each municipality. The screen can show a radius of up to 25 km around one municipality, or a whole province.
Can we get a poster in our house style?
Yes. Email us at info@ikbenvermist.be: we are happy to make a tailored version, or a short briefing for the reception team.
