Have your data deleted

Would you like Ik ben vermist to erase everything we keep about you? That is your right (right to be forgotten, Article 17 GDPR). Enter your e-mail address and confirm your request via the link in our e-mail. A team member then deletes your reports, also on Facebook, and all your other data, and replies to you within one month at the latest.

How it works

  1. You confirm by e-mail

    You receive an e-mail with a link. That way we know for sure the address is yours, and nobody else can have your data erased. The link stays valid for 7 days.

  2. We look everything up

    A team member searches for your e-mail address and phone number in reports, Facebook posts, messages, sightings, neighbourhood alerts, the newsletter, contact forms and e-mails. Nothing disappears without someone checking it.

  3. We delete and let you know

    Within one month you receive an overview of what was deleted. Anything the law requires us to keep (such as invoices for adverts) is listed too, with the reason.

Frequently asked questions

Which data do you delete?

Everything linked to your e-mail address or phone number: your reports with photos and the posts on our Facebook page, messages you sent through the site, sightings, neighbourhood alerts, your newsletter subscription, contact forms and the copies of e-mails we sent you.

Why do I have to confirm my request?

That way we know for sure the e-mail address is yours. Otherwise someone else could have your reports erased. Without confirmation nothing happens and the request disappears by itself after 7 days.

How long does it take?

A team member checks every request personally. You receive a confirmation of what we deleted, at the latest one month after your request, as the GDPR requires (Article 12).

Do you keep anything at all?

Only what the law requires: invoices for ads (accounting and VAT law). We also keep a coded version of your e-mail address, so we can prove that we carried out your request and no longer send you unsolicited e-mails. If you later post a new report yourself, turn on a neighbourhood alert or sign up for the newsletter, we will simply e-mail you about it again. What we keep is listed in our confirmation.

Can I also just delete one report?

Yes. You edit or delete a report yourself via My reports, with the link in your confirmation e-mail. This form is for anyone who wants everything erased.
